acknowledge…to accept and admit

This scripture popped into my head this morning. I love how the different versions add flavor and depth to what’s being said.

Proverbs 3:6

seek Gods will“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” {KJV}

Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.” {NLT}

Know Him in all your ways and He straightens your paths.” {Aramaic Bible}

“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths smooth.” {GOD’S WORD}

Acknowledge {akˈnälij}: Accept or admit the existence or truth of. Recognize the fact or importance or quality of.

Seek {siːk}: To try to locate or discover. To endeavor to obtain or reach. To go to or toward.

Know {nō}: Be aware of through observation, inquiry, or information. Have knowledge concerning.

In other words

If you will…

  • Accept and admit the existence and importance of God in your life, recognizing His involvement in everything that comes your way…
  • Try to discover who He is and what His plans are for you, endeavoring to go toward Him with each step you take…
  • Be aware of God during your day through observation, having knowledge and information of what He is all about concerning you

Then He will…

  • Straighten your paths.
  • Make your way smooth.
  • Give you direction.

He’s sovereign. You’re not.
He orders what comes into your world. You don’t.
His plan has brought all this into your day. Get over it.

Step back.
Relax.
Surrender.

God’s sees.
He knows.
He’s aware.

Trust Him, He’s been doing this a lot longer than you have.

{Unless, of course, you know something I don’t. ;) }
