I’m Susan. Well, wait…allow me to clarify. That’s what my parents named me. Now I’ve been deemed ‘Su’ {thanks to my husband}, so I guess I answer to both {unless I’m ignoring you}. And since I tend to be a wee bit bossy, hence the title of my blog.
I’m married to my best friend, Larry, and we have three crazy lively kids. And since my husband is the chief reason I started this blog, I’ll give him some credit
.
He has always encouraged and challenged me, and been an incredible example of faithfulness, courage, and leadership for both me and our kids. When he needs to grow and become better…he does. {Simple, right?} Change may not be easy, but he never shies away from it, and his example of walking-by-faith is why we are here in Maryland. He felt a ‘call’…and we all answered it with him.
{And the fact that he’s okay when I read {for hours on end} on the very Kindle he bought…says it all.}
Along with my husband – my children, family, and friends have also contributed to who I am today. They’ve helped me become a better person, and I realize how blessed I am. {Luckily I have a dad who likes to chat with me as much as I like to chat with him! It has certainly saved some money on therapy.}
I’ve learned a lot over my 39 40 years, so I strive every day to make the situations I’ve experienced worthy of being sent my way. They’ve brought me to this point, and with that being said….I’m grateful. For both the good and the bad. After all, it takes both dark and light to make a beautiful picture.
So, for the typical ‘about-me’ stuff, I enjoy…
…spending time with my family
…taking pictures
…scrapbooking
…going out with my husband
…making jewelry
…chocolate {and lots of it!}
…Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream
…going out with my husband
…Tall Starbucks Java Chip {no whip…ya know, just in case you were heading my way}
…fresh fruit, salads, and veggies
…{did I already mention…?} going out with my husband
…finding things for a bargain
…great garage sales
…any bookstore
…and, of course, my Kindle. {Which my husband gave me for Mother’s Day. Yes…he is a smart man.}
Last but not least, I’ve discovered my love of blogging. Writing down the thoughts in my head {and, believe-you-me, sometimes there’s plenty of them}. My walk with God is of utmost importance to me, and when He puts things in my heart, I feel responsible to share them.
When it does help someone else, it only makes any struggle on my part….worth every minute. Knowing that an experience I’ve went through encourages someone else to take just one more step…encourages me.
As Maya Angelou says, “When you know better, you do better. And when you learn, teach.”
That’s why I blog. I’ve learned…so I’ll teach.
